Sandra Niine Narh
Sandra’s deep commitment to social justice brings a human-scaled approach to her planning work. She believes that everyone deserves access to reliable, affordable, and sustainable transportation options that can enhance their quality of life. Her work has mainly focused on the interrelationship between transportation and land use, community engagement, spatial analysis, and policy development.
Prior to Nelson/Nygaard, Sandra worked with the Iowa Department of Transportation, where she leveraged her expertise in mapping and data analysis to help track and manage crash data. Before then, she worked as a teaching and research assistant for a geospatial spatial planning class where she assisted students on the use of GIS in addressing community challenges. Sandra’s academic work focused on emerging mobility and integrating emerging modes with the existing transportation systems.
