Sam Wright

Senior Associate
Sam brings safe and effective transit choices to all communities.

Sam focuses on providing desirable transit services that all people want to take. With more than ten years of experience in transportation planning, Sam has led aspects of transit plans from small town feasibility studies to large, system-wide redesigns. Located in our Chicago office, Sam works across the country, bringing diverse planning experience to each local transit project. In addition to service planning, Sam works on a wide variety of transit projects, such as determining the need for statewide transit resources in New Mexico; planning new demand-response services outside of Denton, TX; evaluating the equity of new transit services through Title VI analyses in Charlotte, NC; and implementing service changes with customer-ready maps and schedules in Wichita, KS.

Through previous experience with Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways, Sam has extensive experience managing projects with state transportation departments and local agencies. He was part of the client team developing Cook County’s first Countywide Transit Plan and assisted with the implementation of the Fair Transit Pilot, which reduced commuter rail fares in low-income neighborhoods to provide more affordable transit services. Working at both city and regional scales, Sam uses his skills in transportation planning, public engagement, and geospatial analysis to help communities make informed transit decisions.
