Richard Weiner is committed to accessible transportation for all people.

For more than 39 years, Richard has led planning studies and project implementation, primarily targeting seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income communities. He has worked in both the public and private sectors and provided technical assistance to agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada. His specialty is assisting transit agencies in ADA paratransit compliance and ensuring long-term sustainability of these programs.

The former Deputy Director of New York City’s ADA paratransit program, Richard has presented at many conferences on accessibility and senior mobility. He has conducted seminal research in the field of paratransit integration with fixed-route services and paratransit eligibility processes. Richard has co-led Nelson\Nygaard’s Paratransit and Community Transportation group, and he was the President of Access Exchange International, a nonprofit that provided accessible transportation technical assistance in developing countries.
