Michael Carraher

Michael uses spatial analytics to better understand people and how they move.

Michael specializes in GIS, data analysis, and cartography to help visualize and solve transportation problems. He creates, designs, and maintains geographic databases to spatially analyze how people move, get to work, and interact with each other and their environments. Michael has extensive experience with demographic analysis, transit system performance, demand forecasting, field work, as well as developing engagement tools for inclusive transportation planning. He creates visually compelling graphics to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

Michael has worked in cities and regions small and large, and he brings a wide array of experience in transportation planning. He has developed multimodal campus plans at schools, medical facilities, and employment headquarters across the U.S. He has modeled impacts of transit infrastructure expansion in Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Florida; supported data-driven parking policy development in New York City; and evaluated bus networks in the Midwest and California for redesign.
