Meghan Weir

Bay Area Office Lead
Meghan brings clarity to complicated challenges and finds creative solutions for safer, more livable streets for all.

Meghan works to expand mobility choices for communities that have not been served by our country's history of car-centric planning, and celebrates the freedom that comes with better multimodal connections. A strategic and thoughtful project manager, Meghan brings together diverse stakeholders to better understand priorities and envision possibilities.

Meghan has over fifteen years of project management experience. Her transportation planning practice focuses on multimodal solutions centered in equity, from corridor redesigns and transit station access guidelines to multi-county transportation demand management strategies and transportation analysis policy implementation. Her collaborative approach makes room for dialogue and communication and fosters deep connections with communities to uncover what transportation infrastructure and policy mean to different stakeholders. Working closely with community members and traffic engineers alike, Meghan facilitates consensus building and often serves as a translator for clients and communities to boost their understanding of each other's expertise, concerns, and constraints. With her background in engineering and quantitative analysis, she is also attuned to the technical needs that public agencies face, and she helps to synthesize goals, navigate changes, and identify practical paths forward to implement creative solutions.

Prior to joining Nelson\Nygaard, Meghan worked with other Bay Area planning partners, at Philadelphia’s regional MPO, in the non-profit sector, and as an environmental engineer.
