Maria is dedicated to creating equitable and sustainable solutions for today’s transportation challenges.
Having lived in cities all her life without ever driving a car, Maria understands the importance of well-functioning public transit and city transportation systems. She aims to foster multimodal transportation that addresses the climate crisis while using her extensive journalism background to incorporate storytelling into the planning process. Prior to joining Nelson\Nygaard, Maria worked as a newspaper reporter and editor in New York City for 10 years, covering transportation policy issues and projects at a city and state level.
