With a planning background and a passion for creating thriving spaces, Karen leverages her expertise to create innovative travel solutions that meet people’s needs. Prior to joining Nelson\Nygaard, Karen worked in the public sector, both at the state and regional levels. At the California Strategic Growth Council, she conducted research for capacity-building projects to help communities become more climate resilient. While at LA Metro, Karen supported the development of grant applications to fund rail, transit, and active transportation projects to implement new infrastructure for communities.
