Greg Nordin
Greg’s love of transit stems from a desire to leave this planet a little bit better than he found it. With more than 15 years of experience as a transit practitioner in the public sector, Greg has seen firsthand the benefits that thoughtfully designed transit can bring to a community. He understands the complexities of public sector agencies and has a refined sense of how to navigate relationships to advance an agency’s initiatives. At his heart, Greg is a storyteller who loves to open people’s eyes to the value transit can bring their communities, including transit’s role in addressing climate change and the systemic inequities in our society.
Prior to Nelson\Nygaard, Greg worked for 11 years with the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority, including serving as the agency’s chief of strategic advancement. In that time, Greg led the planning, marketing, and customer service departments, and formed the project management department to lead capital infrastructure development for the agency. Greg also led several key agency initiatives, including the development of a new account-based fare collection system and the development of two transit corridors in Providence. Greg also oversaw the creation of Rhode Island’s first transit master plan, which set an ambitious course for transit development over the next 20 years.
