An interactive, streamlined approach to route evaluation and optimization.

We provide our clients with more than just a high-level snapshot of their transit system; we develop practical, actionable plans that start with a bottom-up perspective. We take a deep dive into the strengths and weaknesses of existing transit services and evaluate each route at a stop and trip level. This thoroughness allows us to find significant cost savings and performance improvements for our clients.

Our route profiles inventory and evaluate several factors, including service design/market orientation, ridership volumes and patterns, route productivity, and service issues such as reliability. At the end of each profile, we list service improvement opportunities that become the basis for the development of network design scenarios.

Our interactive dashboard innovates upon traditional route evaluations—static documents with narratives, charts, and tables—with an interactive website. This saves labor time in data processing and presentation and provides the benefits of interactive visualizations over static ones.

In many projects, we share these individual route profiles with members of the public via an online portal, so they can comment on findings and early improvement ideas. Sharing the route profiles helps build trust, increase transparency, and more deeply engage members of the riding public—building broad support for implementation.
