The American Planning Association honored Vibrant NEO 2040, the first regional plan ever implemented in Northeast Ohio, with the 2015 Daniel Burnham Award for a Comprehensive Plan. The three-year regional planning initiative, led by the Northeast Ohio Sustainable Communities Consortium and Sasaki Associates, determines the vision of the future for four metro areas that include 12 counties and outlines the region’s commitment to strengthening established communities, increasing transportation choices, and preserving and protecting natural resources. Nelson\Nygaard led the transportation component of the plan.
