Paul has over 20 years of experience in transportation and urban planning, project management, and business operations and has been with Nelson\Nygaard for over 14 years. Paul specializes in transit service planning and design, including detailed market evaluations, comprehensive operations analyses, and short- and long-range transit plans. He also has extensive community engagement experience and believes strongly in equitable and inclusive planning processes.
Paul has collaborated with dozens of transit providers throughout the country, ranging from rural demand-response providers to large, urban transit operators. In the Twin Cities, he helped develop operations plans for the Marquette and 2nd Avenues transit lanes through downtown Minneapolis, evaluated the feasibility of streetcar operations for both Minneapolis and St. Paul, served as a task leader for a corridor alternatives analysis in south Minneapolis, and managed comprehensive evaluations of transit needs for several suburban cities. Paul has also served as project manager or played a key role in transit development plans for dozens of small- and mid-sized transit operators throughout the country.
Prior to joining Nelson\Nygaard, Paul worked several years in the public sector on urban design and transportation planning projects in Austin, TX.
