Mohammad’s focus is on designing streets and open spaces in built environment. He believes spaces in between buildings, especially streets and open spaces are equally important as buildings in a city. He helps transform streets into public spaces that make neighborhoods more vibrant.
Mohammad enjoys planning and designing infrastructure to make conditions safer and comfortable for walking, bicycling, and those who use public transit. His skills and areas of interest include bicycle and pedestrian facility design, multi-use trail design, streetscape design, bus rapid transit (BRT), drafting and cartography, and project visualization, among others. As a regular transit commuter, who has never had a driver’s license, Mohammad experiences on a daily basis that a better and well-functioning public transit gives every person the freedom to go virtually anywhere. His technical experience includes AutoCAD, ArcGIS, SketchUp, V-Ray, AutoCAD Map 3D, AutoTurn, Adobe Creative Suite, and MicroStation. Mohammad is also a member of Nelson\Nygaard’s Visual Communications team. His background in design gives him a unique perspective to help communities visualize opportunities.
