Laura believes that centering the user experience is critical for designing more livable, democratic, and functional streets. As a member of the multimodal team in Nelson\Nygaard’s Boston office, she brings skills in roadway design, GIS, data analytics, and public engagement to a variety of projects, including TOD plans and transit access studies. Prior to joining Nelson\Nygaard, Laura worked for three years as a civil engineer in Houston, TX. While in graduate school, her research focused on designing and implementing child-friendly interventions in public spaces and developing cost-modeling tools to assess the life-cycle impact of urban sprawl for municipalities in Nova Scotia.
