Laura believes that centering the user experience is critical for designing more livable, democratic, and functional streets. As a member of the multimodal team in Nelson\Nygaard’s Boston office, she brings skills in roadway design, GIS, data analytics, and public engagement to a variety of projects, including TOD plans and transit access studies. Prior to joining Nelson\Nygaard, Laura worked for three years on engineering projects in Houston, TX. While in graduate school, her research focused on designing and implementing child-friendly interventions in public spaces and developing cost-modeling tools to assess the life-cycle impact of urban sprawl for municipalities in Nova Scotia.
