Joe has more than five years of experience in transportation as a planner, researcher, and advocate. Joe specializes in transit service planning, transit electrification, decongestion pricing, and equity analysis. His clients range from small communities such as Huntsville, AL and Iowa City, IA to large organizations such as the City and County of San Francisco, King County Metro, and the Southern California Association of Governments. His approach is to create efficient, equitable, and welcoming transportation systems to produce cleaner, happier, healthier communities.
Joe brings big picture planning to his work. He understands the relationships among economic development, the environment, land use, and transportation. Joe has published journal articles and a book chapter on economics and transportation and presented this work to national audiences. Prior to transportation planning, he worked in the education, technology, food manufacturing, and lumber industries. He holds degrees from Harvard College and UC Berkeley.
