Jae considers transportation an opportunity for every individual to practice environmental stewardship and caretaking of the planet. She believes it is the planner’s role to make these sustainable travel options enjoyable and accessible for everyone. Through forging strong community relationships, Jae uses her background in transportation and design to coordinate solutions that reflect neighborhood values and contextual needs.
Prior to joining Nelson\Nygaard, Jae worked for the City of Los Angeles, implementing programming and design solutions to make walking and bicycling safer in neighborhoods where improvements are needed most. Prior to that, she provided community outreach and planning for the County of Orange toward a safer, more walkable and bike-friendly county. As a student of urban planning, Jae volunteered with non-profit organizations, programs, and events focused on improving walking and biking for neighborhood communities.
