Edgar combines his unique experience in research, law, and transportation planning into a transdisciplinary framework to create resilient communities. Edgar is passionate about building and restoring access to quality public transportation options for cities’ most underserved communities, a commitment that stems from his experience riding L.A. Metro buses in his youth.
To achieve this goal, Edgar has worked with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation implementing community-driven projects that promote walking, cycling, and public transit use through the People St and Great Streets initiatives. Edgar has also worked with the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy performing geospatial analysis to inform equitable transportation policy recommendations. In this position, he led stakeholder engagement efforts in Los Angeles ensuring that carbon-free programs prioritize environmental justice and human experiences.
