For over a decade, Briana has worked to make public transit more effective and more equitable, in both public sector and consulting roles. She brings a strategic mindset and strong communication skills to every project, whether looking at near-term transit service changes, thorny policy questions, or long-range planning efforts. Briana is adept at creating processes that convey complex information to diverse audiences, engage deeply with communities, and build consensus on tangible next steps.
Prior to re-joining Nelson\Nygaard, Briana led Seattle DOT’s transit service and strategy team, including oversight of a voter-approved transit measure generating over $50 million annually to support transit service, free fare programs, speed and reliability enhancements, and other transit-supportive programming. She also led strategic planning and fare policy efforts at King County Metro.
