Mandated to improve mobility and improve access to health services, treatment, and community options and jobs, the Georgia Department of Transportation commissioned a study to improve the coordination of rural and human service transportation throughout the state.
Nelson\Nygaard served as the technical lead of the study, which created a comprehensive inventory of service providers and transportation programs, and the development of several state-level mobility management strategies.
The plan required submitting an annual report to the Governor’s Office identifying the status and results of recommendations implemented and new coordination and mobility management strategies identified and analyzed. Nelson\Nygaard has prepared the 2012, 2o13, and 2014 reports for the Governor’s Development Council and Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, which had been assigned the reporting responsibility for those years.
