The Los Angeles Arts District hosted its second annual LA CoMotion Leadership Conference and Mobility Festival, this year’s theme being “The Global Laboratory of Future Mobility.” Nelson\Nygaard was a major participant, providing intellectual glue to a wide range of emerging mobility topics and private sector participants:
- Hazel Scher and Meg Merritt presented at the conference on “Transit Lanes and Autonomous Gains, Why High Capacity Is Here to Stay”
- Meg Merritt joined Gabe Klein and others on the main stage for an interactive discussion on “Redesigning the Street”
- Nelson\Nygaard LA team members served in a variety of expert meetings during the leadership conference:
- Jimi Mitchell on “Olympics as the Catalyst for Mobility Behavioral Change” + a city pitch session for one of the LA office projects establishing a grant program for Future Communities Pilot Project (led by Jimi, Junghwa Yuh, Lauren Mattern)
- Aliza Paz on “Disrupting Disruption Culture: How Cities and Tech Can Work Together”
- Roger Pardo on “New Mobility: An Opportunity for Enhanced Accessibility”
- Meg on “NYC L-Train Shutdown – Understanding the Implications to Drive Innovative Solutions”
To bring the leadership conference to a close, the LA Nelson\Nygaard office co-hosted the LA CoMotion Friday evening reception, inviting 100+ local and global emerging mobility leaders to our beautiful office space.
