The City of Mountain View’s Shoreline Boulevard Corridor Study has won an Award of Excellence in the category of Transportation Planning from the California Northern section of the American Planning Association. The study defines a new multimodal approach to one of Silicon Valley’s major thoroughfares. Nelson\Nygaard led the ambitious effort and recommended a diverse package of innovative improvements including a new pedestrian/bicycle bridge over U.S. 101, protected intersection treatments, and the city’s first protected bicycle lanes, and a phased access strategy for the downtown transit center.
