Our partnership creates the largest transit planning practice in the U.S.
We’re excited to announce that Connetics Transportation Group (CTG) has joined Nelson\Nygaard. This partnership expands our transit planning and multimodal design services and augments them with an industry-leading travel demand modeling and big data analytics practice.
Founded in 2005, CTG was built on the idea of connecting people and places. Beyond our common history as women-founded firms and our shared areas of practice, both Nelson\Nygaard and CTG are guided by core values of equity, sustainability, and livability. As you know from our work together, we are committed to developing solutions that are practical, implementable, and shaped by the people we serve.
We’ve looked to CTG as a frequent collaborator for years, working together on projects including the COTA NextGen 2050 Study, the Cook County Transit Plan, and the Wake Bus Plan. Like Nelson\Nygaard, CTG has worked for some of the nation’s largest transit agencies, including LA Metro, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART).
CTG will merge fully with us, and our partnership adds Nelson\Nygaard offices in Atlanta, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Raleigh, and Chicago, effectively creating the largest transit planning practice in the U.S. We’re excited to offer you—and our clients and communities throughout the country—the combined services of both firms. In addition to expanding Nelson\Nygaard’s geographic reach, CTG enhances our offerings in travel demand modeling, transit ridership forecasting, and big data analytics. The CTG modeling team regularly supports many state departments of transportation and provides ridership forecasts for major transit corridor projects.
CTG joins us at a time when mobility has never been more critical. Throughout the pandemic, transit systems have continued to carry people—including essential workers—to jobs and services and have kept cities and regions moving. As we look to the future, transit and integrated mobility systems will become ever more important for an equitable recovery, a practical response to the climate crisis, and a reliable path to resilient and adaptable communities.
We believe we can meet these challenges, and that through transportation we can change the world. Today we welcome to the Nelson\Nygaard family a group of talented and dedicated people who share this belief. Together, we look forward to being your partner in putting people first in the important work ahead.
