Nina Harvey Schatmeier

Los Angeles Office Lead
Nina finds joy in making streets and places memorable, intuitive, and accessible to all.

Nina has over 15 years of planning experience throughout North America and internationally. With an eye towards user experience and universally accessible design, she provides a range of multimodal transportation planning, wayfinding strategy, project management, and technical services on projects, including neighborhood mobility studies, station access and first/last-mile plans, masterplans, landside airport studies, and more.

With a background in planning as well as web design, Nina’s strength lies in her ability to prioritize the user experience by analyzing people movement, looking for creative ways to encourage sustainable urban transportation, and activating streets and neighborhoods through placemaking and wayfinding. She is mindful of the importance of integrating transportation and land use into the planning process to create dynamic places where all visitors, residents, and businesses enjoy and feel comfortable walking, cycling, and exploring.

More recently, Nina has collaborated with women across the industry on research around designing more equitable cities for women, with a focus on travel behavior, personal and physical safety, access to jobs, and zoning.
