Mariel Kirschen believes that access to sustainable transportation is a basic right.

Her work focuses on how public space improvements, transportation infrastructure, and programming can make cities better for all travelers. Through technical analysis and visual communication, she hopes to provide people with the tools to make their cities more livable.

Mariel’s past work in nonprofit and public transportation planning has prepared her for a wide range of projects. She has worked internationally on bicycle projects in both Mexico and Indonesia that focus on equitable access to services and a cultural shift towards sustainable travel.  On the home front, she worked on complete streets and vision zero programming at the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Services.
